Members are invited to attend General Meetings of the Association, held approximately every two months, and have the right to vote and express a view on issues generally affecting members of the Association and the industry. Such matters include:

• Industrial relations

• Government legislation and regulations

• Occupational Health & Safety

• ‘No Go Zone’

• Training

The VCA is affiliated to the Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA), enabling easy access to information of interest to the industry nationally. CICA holds an annual national crane industry conference that gives VCA members an opportunity to meet and network with representatives of the industry nationwide.

Through the CICA affiliation, VCA members also receive member discounts on the:

• Crane Log Book – Operator Safety Checks (currently $10.00 per book)

• Crane Safety Manual for Operators/Users (currently $15.00 per book)

• CraneSafe ‘Green Sticker’ (currently $50.00 per sticker)

• CICA conference registration (usually about $100.00 per delegate)

VCA members also now have the opportunity to be listed on this, the VCA website, with a link to their own websites if so desired.

Members also benefit from group lobbying of appropriate State and Federal Government departments and other bodies on legislation and regulations of concern to the industry as a whole.
